In 2017 the adult and paediatric Liver Units in Birmingham will mark two milestones:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>5000 liver transplants performed in Birmingham<\/li>\n<li>Thirty years since the Centre for Liver Research was established at the University of Birmingham.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ilts--is-shortcode\"><p><div class=\"spacer25\"><\/div><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These clinical and academic achievements will be celebrated in a scientific conference to be held in Birmingham on 5th and 6th September 2017. Speakers include internationally renowned pioneers of liver transplantation and experts in liver disease.
