He is board certified in general surgery, vascular surgery and transplant surgery and is senior consultant surgeon within the fields of abdominal transplantation (liver, kidney, pancreas), HPB surgery and vascular surgery. Since 2004 he has been director at the Department of Transplantation Medicine, Oslo University Hospital. He has a particular clinical and scientific experience and interest within the fields of living donation, abdominal vascular disease, liver transplantation for malignancy and hepatocellular carcinoma. Since 1994, he has held the position of Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine at Paris South University, Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Pr Adam\u2019s main fields of activity and research are surgery of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas, and hepatic transplantation. He chairs the European Liver Transplant Registry and the international Registry of Colorectal Liver Metastases, LiverMetsurvey that he founded in 2005.\u00a0 He is member of the board of the European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association (ELITA), and of the board of the French Association of Surgery. He graduated from Keio University (Tokyo) and completed his surgical residency and fellowships at National Cancer Center Hospital (Tokyo) and Keio University, and University of Miami (Florida, U.S.)\u00a0Dr. Hibi has extensive experience both in abdominal organ transplant surgery and surgical oncology, particularly in the hepatobiliary and pancreatic field. He and his international colleagues have established the concept of \u201cTransplant Oncology,\u201d a fusion of transplantation medicine and oncology, for eradication of cancer.\u00a0Dr. Hibi has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles.
